>>>Wow, this bit of Putin-loving, Ukraine-hating propaganda didn’t age well.<<<
You must be into stale beer though it seems you were expecting wine.
>>>Making apologies for a murderous dictator, and beginning the article with a map showing 180000 enemy soldiers (future war criminals) menacing a free country on all sides. Wow, that’s a promising persuasive start!<<<
Vladimir (his real name) Zelensky could have opted for protection of Russian troops against the Nazis and fascists. He could have also said no to his Ukrainian oligarch puppet master who turned him into the Ukrainian president. In fact, Zelensky could have gone along with France and Germany and implemented the Minsk Agreement.
Sadly, he had a CIA bug in one ear and a Nazi bug in the other and a Ukrainian oligarch puppet master — the one who made Zelensky — pulling on his groin. He was forced into enabling Putin’s army away from its original negotiating posture into becoming a real deal invading military force. Bragging about Ukraine again becoming a nuclear power became the final straw for Putin and he reluctantly pulled the trigger.
I’m assuming you wanted this war, as you impress me as a Putin regime-changer.
>>>In fact, this Nostradumbass was rendered ridiculously, laughably wrong 2 days later.<<<
It would seem to me a “Nostradumbass” type would more likely be one thinking regime change could be effected in Russia while breaking the still powerful historical nation into several nation states. Dream on, Nostradrumbass!
>>>But, this America-hating author probably still loves himself some Putin nonetheless.<<<
This so-calked America-hating author grew up as a little kid with a ball gloved looped to my belt and my bat across the handlebars … it was the American Dream! Oligarch Protection Units (OPUs) and warmongers like you destroyed that dream! I actually like that Putin presides over a multi-ethnic nation that has universal health care for all, free education, very few military bases abroad, a small defense budget, worker pensions and protections like family leave, no death penalty and gun controls, all of which is something GOPwingers will never do and Democrats seem either incompetent to do or do not want to do.
>>>Oh, and, please, tell us more about Putin’s “brilliant chess moves”. <<<
I suspect Putin, who presides over a nation of the world’s best chess players, knows how do deal with quotes and a period.
>>>He wanted Ukraine identity to disappear; it’s never been stronger.<<<
Unless Zelensky finally relents, Ukraine is about to divide into separate nations with the possibility the part of Ukraine that you like — the area on the left side full of Stephen Bandera fascists — could become landlocked.
>>>He wanted to divide the West; it’s had a renaissance of unity.<<<
Putin has no interest in dividing western Ukraine. Should such a division occur it will result from Ukrainian decision-making, not Russian. Your so-called “renaissance of unity” is a page out of the warmongering public relations playbook of the Hills & Knowlton babies who supposedly were pulled off of incubators by Saddam’s mentality. Indeed, the Twitter Trends column is daily full of such machinations.
>>>He wanted to menace Western Europe militarily also;<<<
He did? I thought all he wanted to do was sell Europe oil, wheat, barley, corn and potash. Western Europe already is wonderfully menaced by the US. It certainly doesn’t need Russia to perform a similar function. Besides, unlike the US, it is Russia that wishes to keep its military budget low.
>>>instead, he destroyed his own army;<<<
What history will show is Russia took substantial military losses because it opted not to put on a Shock & Awe show on the major cities. Russia knew the major battle would be in the East where Ukraine’s larger army was positioned. While the Russian troops drew in and kept Ukrainian defenders at the borders of the larger cities, the Russian air force destroyed all of Ukraine’s supply lines.
The eastern army is now woefully vulnerable due to becoming surrounded from Russian troops withdrawing from the major cities and now heading east. Unable to move and low in supplies and ammunition, the Ukrainian army will either surrender or become slaughtered in the kind of imbalanced numbers you alluded to with respect to Russian military losses.
Your shoe will now have to find another foot because you’ve placed it on the wrong foot!
Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. On this subject, do not forget that while Russia’s military was aligned the way it was, its rapid response special ops units managed to capture 20 of the 26 US-Ukraine biological labs as well as nuclear facilities.
Meanwhile, folks like you, according to how you’ve written what you’ve written, think it would have been better had the Russians just bombed, bombed, bombed like the Americans. Granted, had the Russians done this it would have experienced fewer casualties, but civilians everywhere would have been slaughtered in massive numbers. You should give Russia credit where credit is due. Future historians will!
>>>has driven neutrals like Finland and Sweden toward NATO;<<<
Political brinkmanship and appeasement in mass form is not surprising under such circumstances. Forget not, the US is applying lots of pressure and its CIA scribes of stenographic journalism have large tentacles and its outreach is especially potent when international banking is in the mix. Lots of countries are going to say lots of things. But it’s what they actually do that becomes important.
Right now, what with BRICS and all, about 60% of the world’s population understands Russia’s position. Of course, you won’t realize this from reading only Western media, which is what I suspect you do.
>>>and convinced the Germans to rearm.<<<
You seriously believe Germany’s Greens are going to do this? OK, believe it if you wish and believe it at your own risk. All Germany wants is cheap oil, the ability to industrially move itself off of fossil fuels and it resoundingly wishes Ukraine had followed the Minsk Agreement. Germany and military? Surprisingly, even Germany’s tanks these days are not so tankworthy!
>>>Yeah, that Putin, he’s a genius strategist!<<< Comparatively, he actually is.<<<
>>>Homer Simpson would have done better.<<< My friend, trav eler, you need to stop viewing this war with Homer Simpson eyes and instincts. Instead, listen to what a lil’ bee might tell ya!
