Subject: How to Become a Better Member of Congress

“They made a beautiful world … and then let those who wanted to get rich get rich.” — Michael Weddle

Since Republicans took control of Congress in 2010, approval ratings have fluctuated between 15 and 20 percent, even hitting a low point of nine percent in 2013. Don’t you think a wise member of Congress would glean a message from such a startling statistic?

Let me offer the following as a means of helping you do a better job as a member of Congress. Your feeling of accomplishment would become so much greater and your approval ratings would surely skyrocket!

Step One:

Understand the meaning of sound governance and never lose your loyalty to the people from whom you’ve been elected to serve. In simple terms, this means the following: Shelter, health, safety, education, a good job and being able to start up a small business as citizen guarantees. Keep a healthy environment and respect for wildlife. With all of the above in place it then becomes a bonus to explore and journey our nation and our planet — a real treat for humanity!

What’s so hard about doing this?

Step Two:

The key to being successful with Step Two is to not care whether you get re-elected. It doesn’t matter if you do or do not get re-elected. If you lose you can always run again. Your objective is to keep trying to do good. How can you not be rewarded by continually trying to do good? Losing is not a problem! But what truly matters is that you’ve given your heart and soul toward fulfilling the needs of the people, as indicated in Step One.

Step Three:

Ignore completely how things have been done in the past. Look around you today and see what the past has provided. Is it any wonder why your approval ratings are so despicably low? Turn the page, fresh new tides will bring us a greater tomorrow! But, as a Member of Congress, it’s up to you!
