US Illegally Occupies Syria!

Let’s be clear here! The US occupying forces at At-Tanf in Syria are meant to block the Damascus-to-Baghdad Highway and train ISIS-Al Qaeda Syrian opposition fighters dedicated to overthrowing the Democratically-elected Syrian government. Preventing free trade between Syria, Iraq and Iran also inhibits Syria’s ability to recover from the ravages of a long war it never wanted.

The only other place in Syria with US military forces is where over 60% of Syria’s oil is located northeast of the Euphrates River. The US has more than a dozen military bases located throughout Syria, largely supporting the SDF-Kurdish military forces. Illegal Syrian oil sales by the US proxy forces helps to fund opposition to the Syrian government.

What Could Be More Illegal?

Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter stipulates a prohibition on the use of force. There are only two exceptions: a) Self-defense; or, b) if the UN Security Council determines, pursuant to Article 39, there is a threat or a breach of international peace. Only then, with a clear resolution of the Security Council, would a use of force would be legal. Absent this, there is a crime of aggression.

The US is blatantly violating international law and terms and conditions as imposed by the US Congress.

Sadly, Democrats and the mainstream media support the Syrian war now waged by the Trump Administration. Except for relatively mild complaints here or there, nothing happens. The result is innocent Syrian people became displaced from their homes and continue to suffer ravages from a US-induced illegal war existing only to placate Israel, Saudi Arabia and US geopolitical interests tied to the Petro Dollar.

Conclusion:

The US needs a very strong Anti-War Movement, one to influence Congress and the Trump Administration. No Democrat should be supporting oil wars in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Our conscience as a good people requires this.

Remember: Anti-War is Pro-Life!
