— Why we need a real Bernie Sanders, not a faux Liz Warren!
The 2014 Princeton Study on Oligarchy showed America governs on behalf of wealthy corporations and does not govern on behalf of its people. Former President Jimmy Carter has declared America an oligarchy and our nation, which prides itself on liberty and freedom, has repeatedly been rated as a flawed democracy.
According to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), America’s democracy score fell to 7.98 in 2016. It was rated 8.05 in 2015. 8.00 is EIU’s threshold for a full democracy. Today we are rated 7.96, a flawed democracy. “The ranking is based on 60 indicators spanning five interrelated categories: electoral process and pluralism; civil liberties; the functioning of government; political participation; and political culture.”
Apparently, the way to go is to have a Delaware USA-registered corporation and tax havens set up in Cayman Islands, Maltese, Panamanian or Swiss accounts. This money not only evades taxation it’s also taken out of the American economy. Compare this to how a worker earns his or her pay, and pays that money back into the US economy.
Since Reagan-Bush introduced privatization, deregulation and union-busting schemes, CEO pay in America increased 940% while worker pay increased a scant 12%. Under Obama-Biden and Trump-Pence, 85 to 95% of all new wealth created in America goes to fat cats at the top!
America’s two political parties essentially operate like Oligarch Protection Units. From the national political party on down to the state political committees a system is established whereby pedigreed politicians, beholden to donor money, repeatedly get re-elected. For example, Congress traditionally has a favorable rating of 15–20% but a re-election rate of 95%. In every presidential election the nominee of each party is guaranteed oligarch-friendly.
In 2016, Liz Warren proved she is a party loyalist and oligarch-friendly by refusing to support the progressive candidacy of Bernie Sanders which had declared total war on oligarchy. Presently, with Joe Biden’s faltering candidacy, Warren — with Hillary Clinton’s powerful political and media machine behind her — has become the choice of oligarchy for the 2020 Democratic nomination. Oligarchy has determined under no circumstances will Bernie Sanders become the Democratic nominee.
Sanders has spent a lifetime in Congress highlighting the pain, “the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune,” inherent to oligarchy. In 2015 he finally began building a political revolution in America to bring back the American Dream, to revive America’s middle class and bring hope and opportunity for poor folk. Don’t be fooled by Warren, join Sanders with his effort! Otherwise, if you do not, things will never change!
