On March 17, 2003, I wrote the below quoted paragraph on the Silicon Investor (a prelude to Facebook and Twitter) coffee chat posting forum entitled: DON’T START THE WAR.
Except for Obama and Trump widening the Bush-Cheney Iraq War throughout the Middle East and into Northern Africa, the continuation of the killing, injuring and home displacement of millions of people … has anything really changed?
For some strange reason, US Republicans, Democrats and Media continue supporting the above. Meanwhile, the general citizenry responds accordingly:
>>>”Take the AM radio feed when driving to and from work; get home and get the FoxNews [CNN or MSNBC] feed and then, after a dose of it, you turn on to some reality tv show that has something to do with millionaires or survival or stupid song auditions or just a plain ole’ canned laughter sitcom. Wake up, repeat for the next five days. On Saturday you get to mow the lawn, work in the basement or the garage. And all of this is in anticipation of the Sunday game where you take your shoes off, have a beer and maybe get a good Sunday meal. Once you’ve done all that, you get to do it over again, ironically thinking of yourself as an informed individual.”<<<
As time wears on few hear or understand the plaintive pleas of those who know that anti-war is pro-life, climate change is killing our planet, the world’s mineral resources are woefully raped, income inequality increases out of whack and a cruel drug war keeps too many folks living in an underground as orphans of the courts.
Yet US politicians who sport 15% approval ratings get re-elected 95% of the time, this as a monopolized media of five corporations controlling 90% of all media, spews out lies, distortions, omissions and perversions of truth in the cause of money and keeping America’s Oligarch Enrichment Project intact!
Machines? Machines! They keep right on moving!
