Heavy Covid Eye Opener

— Statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is interesting; but what they conceal is crucial!

The below reporting on the Coronavirus is updated daily:

America’s Corona Virus Tragedy

America currently has the misfortune of experiencing its worst president in modern history. Donald Trump’s presidency came at an inopportune moment as a viral global pandemic has now swept the planet and, largely due to his presidential negligence, it has hard-hit American citizens, especially those over the age of 45.

Presently, the equivalence of three planeloads of Boeing 747 passengers are dying every day from the virus.

America’s death count will be near a quarter-million people by New Year’s Day. Folks are dying in overcrowded hospitals under conditions where family and friends can not visit. Many are unable to attend a funeral. Way too many will be absent from this year’s Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday meal tables.

Below, is the attitude of the US president:

Dating back to 2014, the below timeline explains how the US, and especially r Trump, has dealt with the Coronavirus. As you’ll note, Trump’s eventual actions and inactions can only be categorized as abysmal. He prioritized the virus with politics and corporate profiteering over sound medical and scientific leadership. His approach contributed to over 100,000 unnecessary deaths while the US continuously appeared late at the table to do what needed be done.

Trump’s grade on dealing with Covid-19?

Most experts in the medical field — certainly the families of those who’ve become victimized — would assign Trump a flunking grade. He rarely wears a preventative mask in public, chastises others for doing so and he has never publicly called for anyone to wear a mask at any of very large campaign rallies. They are called “super spreader events.”

Indeed, Trump has failed us miserably!

America’s Dow Jones compared to Africa’s Median Age

US Covid-19 statistics when compared to other nations presents a sorrowful and eye-opening setting. A great example is the comparison between Africa and the US. It leaves one statistically surprised. On the surface, it would appear Africa has produced very positive numbers. But this is deceptive. Amazingly, Africa’s numbers actually tell a tale of tragedy perhaps greater than the Covid-19 pandemic itself.

Every time you hear Trump bragging how America is “turning the corner” on the Coronavirus, that the stock market indexes are record-setting and how well ‘his’ economy is doing, you should immediately ignore his claim, pause and think: A-F-R-I-C-A !!!

Why? Because understanding Africa’s Median Age Index (half older/half younger) tells a very different and very important story.

In Trump World, fat cats at the top comprise 85% of all stock market investors. On balance, why would anyone be impressed that the very few are doing very great? Trump’s boosting about the market holds little value for average every day Americans.

Generally, working folks and America’s poor are not stock market investors. Only 32% of Americans hold 401k plans. Unions and their pension funds have become decimated by rightwing politics, not many Americans have meaningful retirement plans. This is a sad reality given the Median Age Index for America is 37.9 years old, meaning most Americans live longer life spans.

Grow old and grow poor in America? Sure seems this way!

But back to Africa and understanding why the continent is showcasing spectacular Covid numbers. Africa’s numbers are good only because the Median Age Index for the continent is 19.7 years old. African citizens, unlike American citizens, do not enjoy long life spans. They die young without the virus!

It’s a fact the Coronavirus is 100 times more deadly to people over age 60 than it is for people under age 40. Immune systems of elderly people have a difficult time adjusting to the virus. Thus, a nation with a large elderly population will see a greater proportion of deaths than would nations with considerably younger-aged populations.

The true sadness — the tragedy that’s greater than the pandemic! — is the simple fact Africa’s population has been dying very young without pandemic influence. What makes this condition more pitiful is Africa is a continent extremely rich and abundant in resources. African citizens should be enjoying free and fair trade with nations all over the globe. Instead, they’ve long been victims of colonialization, where their labor has been exploited and valuable resources from their lands stolen.

It’d be great if America could finally produce a president capable of making coherent decisions to help stop a pandemic virus, one who’d work with world leaders. Trump has discontinued association with the UNs World Health Organization. It’d be nice to have a president who understands the difference and meaning between a stock market index and a median age index. One of humanity’s greatest crimes has been to enable African citizens to routinely die so young. The man in the bikini below is clueless and criminal — he has no redeeming qualities! As a Texan would say, “he’s all cattle and no hat!”
