Bernie Sanders As A Founding Father: Making The Case For Bernie in 2020!
America’s First Five Presidents:
Average life expectancy for Americans from 1750 to 1800 was 36.
George Washington was born in 1732 and became president at age 57 and served from 1789–1797. He lived until 67.
John Adams was born in 1735 and became president at age 62 and served from 1797–1801. He lived until 90.
The average life expectancy for Americans from 1800 to 1850 was 37.
Thomas Jefferson was born in 1743 and became president at age 58 and served from 1801–1809. He lived until 83.
James Madison was born in 1751 and became president at age 58 and served from 1809–1817. He lived until 85.
James Monroe was born in 1758 and became president at age 59 and served from 1817–1825. He lived until 73.
So the average age of America’s first five presidents, when elected, was 58.8 matched against a then-life expectancy of 36-37 years old. So our first five presidents were elected 21.8 years older than the life expectancy at the time of their presidencies.
Present US Life Expectancy for Americans is 78.7 (1.5 years lower than nations within the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development which is 80.3).
Of America’s recent presidents, Gerald Ford lived until 93; Jimmy Carter is 94; Ronald Reagan lived until 94; and George HW Bush is 94.
Bernie Sanders would be age 79 if elected in 2020, only .03 years past the present life expectancy age in America. History says our Founding Fathers — who were elected 21.8 years past life expectancy — did very well. I think Bernie — being elected .03 years past life expectancy — would do well also!
What’s important to consider about Bernie Sanders is, yes, his health. He is still seen running in airports, marching in parades, shooting basketball hoops and giving long speeches in pro-sports stadiums and civic centers all across the nation. A former long-distance runner in high school, one would have to conclude Bernie’s health is excellent. He’s certainly in as good of health as our Founding Fathers were when they were elected.
But perhaps most important is where Bernie stands on the issues that are important to people today. Frankly, there’s no other politician quite like him. Repeatedly elected to the US House and US Senate as an Independent, he has a 30-year record of giving speeches showing he’s been right on nearly every important issue that has affected our nation. America would be a much better nation today had it heeded his advice over the past decades.
30 Years of Bernie Sanders Speeches Warning America! - Steemit
Below is a compilation of excerpts from speeches of Bernie Sanders delivered over the past 30 years. As you can tell…
Let’s assume Bernie has the correct analysis as to what the people of America need. Let’s assume he knows all of the mistakes that have been made. Let’s assume Bernie knows this:
America has evolved into promulgating war, racism, religious intolerance, greed, environmental ignorance, rigged elections and social deprivation. Our nation now functions as an oligarchy where the media is control-monopolized and six-digit salaried lobbyists and consultants hold sway and influence over nearly all our politicians.
So what would President Bernie Sanders do?
- He’d select a vice president experienced and younger, very much in tune with his beliefs on how to bring sound governance to America. Clearly, Bernie wants to restore “The American Dream” and give hope to those locked in poverty and debt. There’s a true reason why Sanders drew seven out of every 10 Independent voters throughout the 2016 election and there’s a viable reason why he consistently held a 10 to 15-point lead over Donald Trump! Bernie’s running mate, likely a female, would be very much like him but perhaps not as well-known nationally.
- He’d appoint an executive cabinet and a judiciary that would truly govern of the people, by the people and for the people. America would no longer be governed from a political point of view that governs of the corporation, by the corporation and for the corporation. This is the distinctive difference domestic America needs (see 2014 Princeton Study on Oligarchy in America).
- His foreign diplomatic appointments would be as bright as a fresh sunshined day following a prolonged deep and darkened storm. The whole world would welcome this! Instead of long-held images of an invasive muscle-bound American militaristic policy that provides weapons to 73% of the world’s dictatorial governments, beat bank deals, foul monetary policy and geopolitical control enabling a persistent push for digging for oil, diamonds, gold and silver while utilizing slave labor … US foreign policy would become very different.
- We would enter an era where the Median Age Index of nations would become as important as the GDP, the Dow Jones and emerging markets. It’d become an era where life, good health, education and opportunity would be viewed as precious. The creative edge of living would thrive!
- Much, much more.
In conclusion, Bernie Sanders ain’t old. His ideas are young and exciting. His inspirations needed and meaningful. He could become America’s greatest president and he’d give us, finally, a proud, sensitive and competent presidential administration.
