1st Friday Monthly C-Note Bands: Classic Ruins/145-Johnny Thunders Orchestra/61 Ghosts/The Fringe/SXYE
At The C-Note on Nantasket Beach (Hull, Mass.) — Featuring The Classic Ruins!
One of New England’s top concert clubs, at The C-Note on Nantasket Beach (Hull, Mass.) this Friday night you’ll discover performances from three ex-Kenmore Square Rat Club bands, and two high school-aged performances — a dynamic contrast of Young and Old/Then and Now!
The monthly concerts raise money for Hull High’s Music Department (funding emphasis for helping special needs musical students. We ask for a donation of whatever you can afford at the door — all-ages friendly!
The Classic Ruins:
Featured will be the midnight performance of The Classic Ruins who recorded several albums and singles and who hit the Rat Club scene in the late-’70s. They performed WBCN’s very first Rock n’ Roll Rumble! The Classic Ruins has featured band members who also performed with The Lyres, The Real Kids, Baby’s Arm, Johnny & The Jumper Cables, The Varmints and more. Historically, they are as Boston Rock n’ Roll as Boston Rock n’ Roll can possibly be!
145 Band/Johnny Thunders Orchestra:
The 11 pm mark will see the powerful 1.4.5. Band which eventually morphs into The Johnny Thunders Orchestra. They morph not only in tribute but because several of the performers this night once were a part of the Johnny Thunders scene and shared stages in varying combinations. Power rock at its best in this time slot!

61 Ghosts:
The 10 pm slot will give you a halloween prep as they’ll be Ghosts at The C-Note! When you’ve played with so many great musicians in so many bands, sometimes it just makes sense for some musicians to come quietly come together. Did I say “quietly?” Wrong! 61 Ghosts is a musical sensation where New York City gutter rock meets Mississippi hill country blues! It’s where raw power and true taste blend into songs like never before! Sometimes there are three of them; sometimes there are two of them … always a ghost or few around them stretching on each note and chord!

The Fringe (High School-Aged Band):
Like electric lightning in musical form now comes The Fringe, fast and furious! These high-end rocker kids are gonna set the table for the pros performing behind them. This night of rock n’ roll is set to dial in some energy! You will move to The Fringe!

SXYE (High School Performer):
SXYE will open up the show at 8 pm. You’ll hear amazing original songs with Leonard Cohen-like lyrics coupled with a young Jonie Mitchell-like voice — very, very creative performer, one definitely worth getting an early seat to see and hear perform.
